Cast Iron Civil War Confederate & Union Soldier Doorstop/Bookend Set. We believe this set of Civil War Confederate and Union soldier bookends/doorstops was manufactured by Grey Iron Casting Company of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania. These pieces are in very good all original condition with no breaks, restorations, repairs, or touch-ups. These pieces show the usual patina, fading, dust, chips, scuffs, surface rust, scratches, missing accessories, and wear that is to be expected from age and use. We encourage you to examine the photographs to further determine condition and quality. A brief history of the Grey Iron Casting Co. In 1913, the Grey Iron Casting Co. Catalog included hardware, cast iron toys, novelties, and house furnishing specialties. "Iron Men" series, 1936; "Uncle Sam`s Defender", 1938. The firm produced miniatures under the name "Greyklip Armies"; also an "American Family" series just before WWII.
